In 2003, Josh was hired by Paul Sandweiss, a respected music and production mixer at Sound Design Corporation on the Hollywood Center Studios lot. Kristian joined the team in 2004 and the three soon became Hollywood’s top team for mixing TV and streaming shows. The studio’s collaborative, boutique environment encouraged open knowledge sharing and reassured clients that their projects were in very capable hands.
They consistently deliver high-quality mixes across a diverse array of productions, including world premieres,
award shows, music specials, comedies, reality/tv series, commercials, and podcasts.
No project or service is too large or too small.
Josh is recognized for his exceptional ear for dialogue, music, sfx, and audiences combined with his meticulous
technical chops and patience for any production. Kristian’s skill set is quite similar but also includes a BA in Music, adding vocal refinement and fine-tuning instrument elements for performances. Both engineers trained on Fairlight systems before transitioning to Pro Tools, ensuring they remain current with modern plugins and studio technologies.
Josh and Kristian have now opened Castle Peak Audio. Drawing on decades of experience and proven methodologies, they produce polished music mixes, comprehensive show and playback package mixes, and versatile sound design.
Their extensive credits encompass numerous high-profile productions that many mixers aspire to work on.
Josh has won five Primetime Emmys and Kristian four for their work on The Grammys, The Oscars,
Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, and Adele: One Night Only Live from the Griffith Park Observatory. Collectively they have received 24 additional Emmy nominations for programs such as The Night That Changed America:
